Fifty Not all it's cracked up to be!!

So last week I turned fifty. I got a tooth pulled followed by an exacerbation of my MS. I presently only see with my left eye. Pirate Pete and all you bandits don't hold a candle to me!! It's great to have Shallece back around. Now if I can return to the health of a 25 year old I will be content!

Marriage

Well 28 years ago tonight, our car died, the refrigerator died and my wedding cake fell. Some would say that is an omen. Well, 28 years ago tomorrow, we still got married. We first got up at 0600 to buy cake mixes, Alice spent the day baking and decorating while Cheri ate the flowers off as fast as Alice put them on!!

We have endured every type of emotion there is and still find humor and joy in each other. Our greatest gift is sharing our life with Shallece and the ties that bind the three of us together. Of course when she was young and naughty it was all Jerry's fault. LOL!! We have had 6 homes, 4 dogs, 2 birds, three cats and countless Christmas trees. We have had trucks--let's see--blue Ford, white Ford, blue Chevy, maroon Ford, a Corsica, a Toyota, 2 vans, and an SUV to name a few.

We have loved new little lives that have entered this world and lost many people to the next world. We have had many friends of all types, but the constant was our family...Lesa and Ken, Laura and Dan, Ashley and Heather and Shallece. Thank God for the blessings we have received through the years. For me Thank God for Jerry and his patience, I am a tad bit crazy!! I love you Jerry....Ole

Time and Family

Funny how time changes how one thinks of family. When you're young any family event is boring unless the cousins are kids your age. Then you are busy raising your own family and just trying to get through the day. Then the kids are raised and suddenly you remember there are a whole lot of extended family out there. Low and behold, time spent with them make you realize why you loved them to begin with. There is nothing that can match the love of family.
